Newtrimed distributors were typing product labels into the system by hand. Thousands of products made that slow, and small mistakes traveled through the stock records.
The Challenge
Traditional inventory management in distribution involves manual scanning, typing, and verification, processes that consume hours of distributor time every day. Errors in product data cascade through the system: incorrect stock levels, mislabeled products, and inaccurate reporting that affects procurement decisions.
Newtrimed needed an intelligent system that could read product information automatically, verify inventory against expected data, and present the results through an interface that distributors and administrators could use without extensive training.

We designed an intelligent web application featuring OCR-based inventory management: OCR-powered product scanning with distributors photographing or scanning product labels and the system extracting information automatically; inventory verification workflows cross-referencing scanned data against expected records; clean, task-focused interface designed around the actual workflow; error handling and correction with the system learning from corrections; administrative dashboard with real-time inventory status; and scalable architecture handling growing product catalogs.
